I've always been fascinated by people's stories, and the inspiration for EverKin Stories comes from my own family.

Having lost my mum at 17, I've experienced how much of a person can disappear with time. We still have the photographs, but what I miss most is hearing her voice and being able to ask the questions I never got the chance to ask about her life, her experiences and what shaped her.

At the same time, my dad's journey from Ghana to the UK (and marrying a white woman from Yorkshire in the 60’s) has shown me how deeply our parents' stories shape our own. Their decisions, sacrifices and experiences become part of who we are, yet so much of that history can be lost if it's never shared. Understanding where we come from helps us understand ourselves and often reveals parts of our loved ones we never truly knew.

EverKin Stories was born from a desire to preserve more than memories. It's about capturing the voices, values, culture and life experiences that photographs alone can't hold. Because when those stories are lost, we don't just lose history. We lose a part of ourselves.
