Frequently Asked Questions
Choosing to preserve someone's story is a big decision, so it's natural to have questions. We've answered some of the most common ones below, but if you'd rather chat, we'd love to hear from you.

Not at all!
Although many of my recordings are done with parents, grandparents and older relatives, a life story video is valuable for anyone with a story they would like to share and preserve, regardless of age.
Many clients buy it as a meaningful gift for a loved one, while others choose to record their own story for personal reflection or future generations.
-
This is one of the most common concerns.
Many people feel their life has been ordinary, but families often discover that the stories they take for granted are the ones their loved ones treasure most.
The aim is not to create a documentary about a famous person. It's to preserve a life, a personality, a voice and a family history that might otherwise be lost.

Not at all!
Many people tell us they're worried they'll be put on the spot or expected to answer difficult questions. The reality is quite the opposite.
There are no scripts, no pressure and no right or wrong answers. It's simply a relaxed conversation, guided gently at your own pace.
You choose what you'd like to talk about, what you'd rather leave out, and we can pause whenever you need to. Most people tell us they forget the cameras are even there after a few minutes.
Our aim isn't to interview you. It's to help your stories unfold naturally, just as they would over a cup of tea with someone you trust.
-
Don’t worry, this isn't a television interview or an investigation. It's simply a relaxed conversation about your life, your memories and the stories you'd like to document for your loved ones.
Before we film, we'll talk about the areas you'd like to cover, and throughout our conversation you're always in control. If there's a question you'd rather not answer, we'll simply move on. There are no awkward questions, no pressure and no expectation to share anything you're not comfortable with.
The goal isn't to uncover secrets or put you on the spot. It's to help you tell your story in a way that feels natural, enjoyable and true to you.
And if, after filming, there's anything you'd prefer not to include in the finished film, that's completely your choice. This is your story, and you decide what becomes part of your family's legacy.

Not at all.
Before filming, we'll discuss any important topics you'd like included, and I'll guide the conversation on the day.
The interview is designed to feel natural, relaxed and conversational rather than formal or scripted. As if you are having a chat with a friend or family member!
-
Most interviews take place in the comfort of the person's own home, where they feel relaxed and surrounded by familiar memories.
Other locations can also be considered if there is a place that holds special meaning.
Most interviews take between two and three hours, including breaks if needed.
The pace is always guided by the person being interviewed.
